Sometimes you just have to put down your baby down and give your arms a rest! But where can you put someone who can’t sit upright? The activity gym is the perfect answer. An activity gym or mat is one of the first toys a baby can enjoy. Activity gyms are one way in which to introduce new colours and sounds, and they are an interesting place on which to lie while babies learn to roll over, strengthen their muscles and crawl.

The mats we’ve chosen are interesting, colourful, and provide a variety of texture, sound and visual experiences for your child. They are simple to set up. Spread the mat on the floor for tummy time and your baby will enjoy a vivid picture in a variety of high contrasting colours, and maybe even forget that they don’t like being on their tummy so much! Some of our mats have squeak, crinkle and musical features. Time for back play – your baby will love to stare and grab at the colorful dangling toys, and listen to the music that comes on when the toys are hit. Babies can learn cause and effect from activity mats by seeing that things happen when they push, grab, or move something. Plus, they are simple to pack up and take with you when you’re visiting friends.
