If your baby fancies sitting up, but doesn’t yet have the skills to do so, the Bumbo Sitter is for you. The Bumbo Sitter is a seat that has been specifically designed for babies that are not yet old enough to sit up on their own. Made out of a low-density foam material that’s light, soft, comfortable and easy to clean, the Bumbo Sitter is uniquely designed according to the baby’s posture to seat babies independently in an upright sitting position, from as young as 3 months up to an age of approximately 14 months. The Bumbo does not have any belts, straps or fasteners. It’s really just a molded foam chair. The key feature of this seat is that the seat is lower than the leg openings. As such, it keeps the baby upright while correctly supporting the lumber area. The design of the chair also assists in the correct spinal development of a baby, and increase flexibility of the baby’s hip and knee joints. Although the front support of the Bumbo looks as if it might push against a baby’s groin, it doesn’t do that since the seat is at a slightly lower level. Even without straps or a harness, your baby will be safe and comfortable. The Bumbo is designed for floor level use only. It should not be used in the bath, on a chair, table, countertop or any elevated surface, and your child should never be left in it unattended.
