Wee Travel rents convertible car seats for children that can be used in both the rear-facing and forward-facing positions. We rent a large selection of brands (not all are shown).

It is recommended that children stay rear-facing until the age of 1 AND 20 pounds. Before you install the car seat, we recommend you read the manufacturer's instructions and your vehicle owner's manual for installation instructions. Front facing seats are designed for babies who are at least one year of age and weigh a minimum of 20 pounds. Please keep in mind that the safest way for your child to travel is in the rear facing position so the longer your child looks out the back window the safer he/she will be! Convertible seats mean that the seat “converts” at various stages of your child's life. There are convertible seats (e.g. Eddie Bauer) that are suitable for your child in the rear facing position from birth to 20 pounds, can then be turned around and used from 20-40 pounds and finally, the belts can be removed and they can transform into a booster seat until your child is 9 years old or 4'9” tall and approximately 80 pounds. Relatively new on the market are seats that will hold your child up to 100 pounds (e.g. Sunshine Kids). Pay special attention to the manufacturers instructions for the weight limit of your child's safety seat. When purchasing a seat there is an overwhelming amount of information available but the crucial information is available on the outside of the box and most stores are happy to let you take the seat out to the parking lot to test it in your car. You may have to pay for it first, but they will gladly offer you a different seat should the one you try out not be suitable. Wee Travel offers a plethora of front facing and convertible car seats. Some are wide, some are narrow, some are heavy, others lighter. All meet Canadian safety standards (all car seats sold by retailers meet the same safety standard). Never use a car seat bought in the USA or another country, in Canada. Canada has very stringent safety standards that other countries may not meet.
